We must end I-Ready!

We must end I-Ready!
The Issue
I am a firsthand witness to the negative psychological impact that I-Ready can have on children, myself included. My encounter with I-Ready led to a mental breakdown, an experience I never wish upon any other child. This program contributes to student burnout, increasing the intensity of academic pressure while disregarding the mental well-being of the learners.
The American Psychological Association recognizes the link between excessive homework and detrimental health effects, such as stress and burnout among students (APA, 2013). Coupled with I-Ready's heavy load, this amplifies the already existing problem. I-Ready promises to personalize student learning, but the reality is often far from it. Most of the information you see when you look up what it does for them is from Curriculum Associates, who made I-Ready. That seems pretty biased. Children, like me, end up feeling burdened and overwhelmed instead of nurtured and educated. Unfortunately, I-Ready was made for neurodivergent children such as myself, but it really doesn't seem made for anyone to have a good time, does it?
We need to address this issue urgently. Schools should consider integrating other education systems that prioritize students' mental health alongside their academic success. Let's work towards creating an education environment that fosters growth and love for learning, rather than spawning fear and anxiety. Please, sign this petition, let's put an end to the I-Ready program until it can guarantee a safe, encouraging, and mentally healthy space for our children. Thank you guys so much for considering this. It would mean the world and more to me if you signed it. I hope I didn't hurt your brain just talking about it. I hurt my own thinking about it.
