We in Gurgaon are treated as dirt while we pay the highest charges for all the amenities.
We in Gurgaon are treated as dirt while we pay the highest charges for all the amenities.
The Issue
Our roads should make life easier, not put our safety at risk.
We appeal to GMDA, Gurugram Traffic Police and the Government of Haryana to urgently address the traffic problems affecting Vyapar Kendra Road and Galleria Market Road.
The redevelopment was intended to improve traffic movement and provide facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. Yet repeated delays and concerns about the present arrangements have raised serious questions about planning, implementation and public safety.
The Times of India reported in September 2025 that the project had been delayed, with a March 2026 completion deadline. On 26 October 2026, the newspaper reported severe congestion on Vyapar Kendra Road amid incomplete traffic signals and road markings.
The reported expenditure on these two roads is approximately ₹44.1 crore. Citizens deserve transparency about the expenditure, delays and results delivered.
Why must we act now?
Traffic congestion affects everyone. An ambulance must reach a patient. Children must reach school safely. Families and professionals must be able to reach hospitals, workplaces and the airport without unreasonable delays. Pedestrians, cyclists and senior citizens deserve safe roads.
Residents are also concerned about the trees affected by the redevelopment and the status of the promised pedestrian and cycling facilities.
We respectfully demand:
Immediate measures to address traffic confusion and safety risks.
An independent traffic assessment before permanent arrangements are finalised.
Public disclosure of approved plans, traffic surveys, project expenditure and revised deadlines.
Safe and reliable access for emergency vehicles.
Transparency regarding tree removal, permissions and compensatory plantation.
Meaningful consultation with residents and a time-bound corrective action plan.
We support development—but development must serve people.
Please sign and share this petition. Together, we can ask our authorities to listen to residents, examine the facts and make Gurugram’s roads safer, more efficient and more liveable.
Initiated by Sudhir Sachdeva, Emeritus Chairman of the Society and a Senior Vice President of gurgaon Citizen Council want all residents who are facing the challenges to come forward and demand the government to take back the wrong decision by them.
