We Deserve Fair Treatment At Work. Say No To Unfair HR Processes By Regulating CEOs & HR
The Issue
Regulate CEOs and HR in public office, Trade Union Organisations and Workplace Investigators for accountability
Everyone deserves to be safe and treated fairly at work, and those with power over people’s careers and livelihoods must be accountable when they seriously fail.
The Death of NHS Nurse Amin Abdullah and that of Chloe Moffat from the office of the Treasury
Having recently read about the tragic deaths by suicide of nurse Amin Abdullah and Chloe Moffat, I am compelled to campaign for the regulation of CEOs, Human Resources officials, and non-executive directors in public offices. Such regulation would ensure these powerful individuals are directly accountable for their actions or inaction. If they demonstrate incompetence, partake in dishonest acts, character assassination or fail to act responsibly in public office, they should face severe consequences, including being struck off from a professional register similar to the repercussions faced by doctors or nurses.

Fundraiser for Sheila N Chohan by Sheila N : Help Me Fight Workplace Racism & Bullying in the NHS
Every worker in the UK deserves a workplace where management is held accountable, yet currently, many suffer under abusive management regimes with little to no repercussions for those at fault. The systems meant to protect employees, such as trade unions, often fail in their duty. Too frequently, unions neglect the representation of the workforce, sometimes deliberately siding with powerful employers to the detriment of the employee. This bias leaves countless workers, including myself, whose membership is with the Royal College of Nursing union, without adequate recourse or support.
As it is currently, the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 does not provide a route for members who fund unions to complain to the Certification Officer about poor advice, bullying, dishonesty or inadequate representation. There are no effective safeguards or systems to challenge trade union representatives. Legal action against them remains the only costly alternative, creating a financial burden that many, like myself, cannot afford. This is unacceptable. There is a strong need for an Ombudsman to whom members can report the shortcomings on trade union organisation, a dedicated entity to investigate and hold trade unions accountable for failing their members. This will serve as a check and balance, ensuring employees receive the representation and protection they rightly deserve.
By signing this petition, you will be supporting a crucial step towards creating a fairer and more just workplace for all UK employees. Demand that leaders and representatives are held to the same standards they set for others. With your help, we can advocate for systemic change within the workplace and ensure a safe, supportive work environment for everyone. Please sign and support this vital cause.
