We Demand Safety, Electricity, and Basic Services for Pimville Zone 9 (RDP / Zone 14)

We Demand Safety, Electricity, and Basic Services for Pimville Zone 9 (RDP / Zone 14)
The Issue
We, the residents of Pimville Zone 9 (RDP Houses / Zone 14), are calling on local leaders and government officials to urgently address the serious challenges our community is facing.
For too long, we have lived with:
- Daily break-ins and a high rate of crime, leaving us fearful in our own streets
- No electricity since 15 January, making homes unsafe and difficult to live in
- Overgrown grass and public spaces that create hiding spots for criminals
- Burst sewerage pipes, which expose children to disease
- A stalled street development project with no updates or explanation
- Lack of employment opportunities for our youth and unfair allocation of jobs
- Limited educational opportunities for young adults
- An absent ward councillor who rarely attends meetings or engages with the community
Despite raising these issues repeatedly, very little has changed. Our roads remain dusty and gravelly, our environment is unsafe, and our youth continue to be marginalized.
We, the residents, demand urgent action and accountability. Our community deserves:
- Immediate restoration of electricity
- Measures to reduce crime and improve safety
- Maintenance of public spaces, including cutting long grass and fixing sewerage issues
- Transparency and updates on the stalled street project
- Engagement and accountability from our ward councillor
- Fair access to employment and development opportunities for our youth
By signing this petition, you are standing with the residents of Pimville Zone 9 and demanding the dignity, safety, and basic services we deserve.
