We, Reform UK Broxbourne & the residents of Broxbourne and the wider Hertfordshire community, call for the immediate closure of the asylum hotel at the Cheshunt Marriott Hotel.

This facility was forced on our area by the previous Conservative government without any public consultation. It is being used to house asylum seekers at tax payer expense. Its presence has caused widespread concern among local residents -  all while costing taxpayers millions without a say. 

Now under a Labour government, the public was promised an end to the use of asylum hotels. That promise must be honoured - not by 2029, but now. The continued use of Cheshunt Marriott as an asylum hotel is a betrayal by both Labour and the Conservatives. Neither party can be allowed to pass the buck any longer.

We demand the Home Office:

• Sets an immediate closure timeline for the Cheshunt Marriott site
• Ends all hotel use for asylum accommodation in the Borough of Broxbourne
• Secures the border and stops illegal small boat crossings

This is about common sense, and accountability. Local people should not pay the price for the government’s failure to manage immigration properly.

It’s time to shut this site down, return the hotel to its rightful use in our local economy, and end this reckless, expensive policy once and for all.
