Please sign this petition and share it far and wide. If New York City goes humane and our shelters are at last no-kill as we were promised in 2014, this could have ramifications far beyond our city limits for all dogs and cats. If these animals are guaranteed “Safe” status, we could spend our time placing them in homes or getting them adequate medical care until they get to their homes without the pressure we now feel to network them quickly so they can be rescued, fostered or adopted. Many times our efforts on their behalf does not put a dent in this humane concern. We are not able to buy them the time they need for us to find them a home or get them the medical care they need. What an enormous stride it would be if the rights of our sentient animal population in New York City who find themselves homeless for whatever reason were safeguarded and they were no longer looked upon as expendable. We must prevail and see that this happens. Long live our animal population!
