ATTN: Upper Providence Township (UPT), Delaware County, PA Council:

Whereas UPT (DELCO) Council has determined a redistricting initiative is needed to balance out the population across the 5 voting districts in Upper Providence Township, and whereas no public input was solicited to align on the redistricting evaluation criteria and whereas the majority of current proposals are far too disruptive to the voters of UPT, we, the below signed residents of Upper Providence Township, Delaware County petition our Township Council as follows: 

1) We stand firmly against partisan gerrymandering of Upper Providence Township - individual household addresses and current incumbent locations should not factor into the redistricting process whatsoever.

2) Minimizing disruption to residents should be the highest priority - as few residents as possible should be required to move to a new voting district

3) As Council endorsed for the State of PA, we also demand a partisan balanced and impartial, citizen-led committee develop criteria for redistricting proposals and create unbiased, fair maps that limit disruption, limit partisan shift and are open and transparent.
