Hello everyone. After the predictable disappointment that was the official Council response to the results of this petition, I wanted to draw your attention to the Moseley Ward Meeting. This takes place on Thursday 16th March at 7pm at the All Services Club on Church Road and is free for all local residents to attend.

Road safety and identification of problem roads in Moseley ward is on the agenda. In attendance will be the new Police Sergeant responsible for Moseley’s Neighbourhood Police Team. Enforcement is one part of the strategy for improving road safety, so if you have the motivation to attend this meeting, it would be a good opportunity to get Yardley Wood Rd on local Police’s radar and share the concerns raised in our petition.

It’s worth pointing out that Yardley Wood Rd has sat within Moseley ward since the ward boundaries were redrawn a few years ago. Unhelpfully, the neighbourhood policing responsibilities sit on different boundaries meaning the road is split down the middle between the Moseley Neighbourhood Policing Unit to the West side and the Springfield Neighbourhood Police Unit to the East. Springfield also has a relatively new sergeant (Lou Garner) and I am intending on contacting her soon to highlight the petition and see what she may be able to offer. Please do think about contacting the two Police teams yourself. Given the teams share the same base on Woodbridge Rd in Moseley, I hope some joined up work could be considered.

Have a great weekend all.
