Dr. Adelaide Russo Must Geaux!

The Issue

For background information, please see this article: LSU French Studies chair removed after allegations that she ignored sexual misconduct reports

Dr. Adelaide Russo defended and excused the actions of an abuser and continually allowed him access to students on campus, despite reports and complaints about his actions. Dr. Russo's actions are inexcusable and arguably even more dangerous since she is also an educator and held a great deal of power in her department.

Dr. Russo is now back in the classroom and will be teaching a coveted 4000-level French elective in the Fall of 2022. Several students will be forced to take this class to graduate; some of whom her actions directly affected.

LSU should remove Dr. Russo from having contact with students effective immediately. Having Dr. Russo in the classroom affects not only those who were affected by the graduate student in question but all students and faculty who wish to cultivate a safe environment on campus.

Help us make the classroom a safe space again.
