The Lion and Cheetah Sanctuary in Gauteng is urgently trying to reunite Fanie the Lion with his brother, Frik. Fanie was rescued by the Sanctuary from being can-hunted, but is currently stuck on a farm in the Free State because the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Nature Conservation Unit refuses to issue a Transport Permit allowing Fanie to be transported from the Free State to be reunited with his brother at the Lion and Cheetah Sanctuary in Gauteng. 

As a result of this cruel, and intentional, separation by the Department, Frik has fallen into a severe depression. 

We are pleading with the public, the Department and anyone that is able to assist in reuniting these two brothers, to allow them to live out the rest of their lives happily together.

Please do your part by signing this petition and pressuring the Department into ceasing from unreasonably withholding a simple Transport Permit!
