Hello dear supporters,

Animal welfare activists as well as Member of Parliament of the Greens in Hamburg, Christiane Blömeke, have reported that dogs and monkeys have been transported away by LPT Mienenbüttel in vehicles.

The obvious suspicion is the laboratory is cleaning up its location in the district of Harburg and thereby withdraw the animals from any planned sanction by the responsible authorities. Most likely, the animals were taken to another location of the LPT.

I am beyond shocked that something like this was even possible at all in the current situation and given the ongoing debate about the LPT and a possible closure! Unfortunately, it appears to legally be possible for the animals to be transferred to other laboratory branches without special permission.

A small consolation the LPT must now inform authorities in advance, if it intends to kill laboratory animals. It must also inform them beforehand if an animal leaves the LPT-Hamburg.

But we won't let that get us down!

Our goal was and still is to close the LPT! We're not alone in this. The renowned behavioral researcher Jane Goodall sees it the same way:
