Hello dear supporters,
I would like to thank everyone who took part in the big demonstration and the vigil on Saturday and all those who supported us from all over the world. With almost 7500 participants, the demonstration was the biggest animal welfare demonstration ever held in Germany!
Now I would like to inform you about the further steps:
I will add an additional decision-maker today. Namely Prof. Dr. Eberhard Haunhorst, the President of the “Landesverband für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (LAVES)” (State Association for Consumer Protection and Food Safety). The LPT's headquarter is in Hamburg, but the animal testing laboratory is in Mienenbüttel, 16 km away. Mienenbüttel is not located in Hamburg but in another federal state called Lower Saxony. Therefore the state of Lower Saxony is responsible. The State Association for Consumer Protection and Food Safety has already begun investigations against the animal testing laboratory and will currently not approve any further animal testing in Mienenbüttel.
I will now try to arrange an appointment with the Senator for Health and Consumer Protection in Hamburg and with the President of the state Association for Consumer Protection and Food Safety in Lower Saxony to hand over the petition in order to represent the topic and your voices there as well.
Kind regards,
your Caro
