The beaches, the coastal walks all locked down tighter than a drum. Sadly so many people out walking and not observing social distancing is only making it worse for everyone. We need some common sense if we're not going to further incite closures. Isolation is necessary to stop us reaching the terrible outcomes now happening in the USA and elsewhere. For those of us who love our regular Indonesian surf trips we need to spare a thought for the terrible situation happening there. We are lucky here in Australia but as the saying goes, 'Luck is just opportunity meeting planning.' Let's be smart about this and play it safe.
Definitely an Easter to remember and I just hope that over the coming weeks we can convince local and state government to manage some access to the ocean here in Sydney. We have now passed the 500 mark on our petition and I hope, with some more over the next week, I can present the petition to our decision makers; Waverley Council, Randwick City Council, NSW State Government and the NSW Police Service at the end of next week. I hope this might get us a voice in discussions about managing access to surfing and swimming as soon as possible.
So keep sharing the petition, talk it up. But most of all stay safe, be smart and have a good Easter despite this mongrel virus.
