Stuart Platt, Solicitor for the Township of Washington is attempting to disallow petitions signed using Docusign against the salary ordinance O02-2017 according to an anonymous source close to Mayor Joann Gattinelli. Said Brian McBride, Petition Coordinator. "Docusign was chosen as our vendor for electronic signature capture because it complies with the Federal Electronic Signatures on Global and National Commerce Act as well as the New Jersey Electronic Transactions Act. There is absolutely no legal basis for the disqualification of digital signatures via Docusign. It also violates the rights of the senior citizens and disabled for whom it was unsafe to travel in frigid temperatures and with code blue warnings issued by government agencies. This reckless and illegal behavior by Mr. Platt, who is already under investigation by the State of New Jersey for alleged ethics violations, reeks of a desperate attempt by establishment politicians to deny rights conferred to taxpayers under New Jersey law."
