Our hearts are heavy with the news of a missed opportunity for justice today for Breonna Taylor—but we must keep fighting for Black lives nationally and here at home. Front Royal Unites needs YOUR voice on October 6 at 9 am to urge the Warren County Board of Supervisors to remove the Confederate statue. Click for details and to RSVP today!

Despite over 2,000 signatures on our petition and overwhelming support for relocation at recent meetings, the Board hasn't yet committed to making Front Royal more inclusive by removing the statue from public land. Instead, the County has put the matter on the upcoming ballot for citizens to weigh in, essentially indicating that it would rather wait for the majority to come around before standing on the side of justice. We need to keep up the encouragement (no matter how the vote turns out on November 3).

Come out to the next Board meeting on October 6 at 9 am at the Warren County Government Center (220 N Commerce Ave) to stand up for our Black friends, family, and neighbors. The Board will not hear this issue on the agenda again until after the election, but those interested can arrive early (8:30 am) and sign up to speak during the general public comment period. Please wear all black so we can make a strong showing of unity, but keep in mind that posters and other written materials are not permitted inside. Please also bring a mask and socially distance.

We'll post additional details for the October 20 and November 4 events (which we'll be at, regardless of how the vote turns out) -- but mark your calendars now!

Click here to RSVP for October 6.

Thank you for standing up for justice!
