There is more of us

50 people and you keep on coming. I can't give you promises. I can't say that if we reach a certain point - something will happen. As all of you - I am just another Tomb Raider and Lara Croft fan. The Lara Croft fan. Whilst I still appreciate that the franchise exists, I simply fear that the game lacks a soul. The attempt to reboot the series while perhaps necessary in the delivery language, killed something dear to me. When I was younger, Lara Croft was like my hero. She gave me strength and the way she faced obstacles and enemies - with courage and sarcasm - she taught me to handle my life and situations in which I didn't feel strong enough. While I don't doubt that more complex characters are more believable - and I get that this is what was intended - the confused and inconsistent Lady Croft is something far from what I and many of us loved at the first sight. I just hope, that we can all reach a moment when we will say - the new game/movie/comic/book is truly about the Lara Croft which became a phenomenon against all odds. And against all odds, I hope that we will have some say to this future.
