Urgent call to Wandsworth Council - Build A Safe Crossing at Lower Richmond Road near Oasis & All Saints

Our 6 year old daughter, was knocked over and injured by a racing cyclist on Saturday 18th September, 2021 on the Zebra crossing next to Oasis Academy and All Saints, on lower Richmond Road, even though the cars had stopped. 

Now it is time to send a signed petition to Wandsworth Council to establish proper safety measures. Please help us!

Urgent safety measures needs to be put in place, above all:

1)  Proper Pelican crossing
2) Safety Barriers alongside the pavements 

Background

Hundreds of children cross the road there every day, with two large primary schools in the area. Although most cars stop at the zebra crossing, many bicycles, cars and motorcycles DO NOT. They don’t see kids and families crossing, as the cars block the view, or they are in a rush. There have already been many incidents and also accidents and that needs to change now, through this petition. 

Action needed urgently

With so many children crossing, there is a very high risk of a fatal accident if action is not taken immediately. 

Please help us to sign this petition to hand over to the Council on October 13th.
