We support Mini Holland in Waltham Forest

The Issue

We support Waltham Forest Council’s Mini Holland scheme because we believe it’ll make Walthamstow a better place to live for everyone.

We want to see more journeys made on foot and by bicycle to help ease congestion and reduce pollution. We want to save the NHS money as more people exercise and reap the health benefits. We want the streets we live on to be quieter, safer places where we and our families can walk and cycle with less fear of motor traffic.

We believe that if done right, Mini Holland could make Waltham Forest an example for other places to follow.

For all these reasons we support Waltham Forest Council as they implement the Mini Holland scheme.

The Decision Makers

Stella Creasy MP
Hello - I'm writing to update people who have signed this petition ahead of the Waltham Forest Council meeting on Thursday 22nd October, to let you know that I have yet to receive a response to my latest letter about Mini Holland sent on the 23rd September to the Chief Executive of the Council and Lead Councillor for the scheme. If you have not yet seen this letter please email me on stella@workingforwalthamstow.org.uk and I will share a copy with you for information. Please note that as the MP I do not have any direct authority over this scheme as it is managed by Waltham Forest Council. Therefore whilst I can raise this existence of this petition with the council, and will alert the Walthamstow representatives ahead of Thursday to the numbers of people who have signed all the Change.org petitions about Mini Holland, there is no formal status attributed to this petition in their decision making processes. Therefore if you have not been in touch with your councillors about this matter I would encourage you to do so. I will continue to try to ensure Waltham Forest Council is aware of the views about this scheme which are raised with me. kind regards Stella
