I love Waltham Forest.

I love its people. I love its soul. I love its character.

I am not the only one however. The area has attracted a massive influx of new people into the borough and has seen the price and demand for housing shoot up. In response to this the council quite rightly needs to build new housing. 

I believe in balance however. I believe we can build new homes that don't destroy the soul of the area. I believe the council should try harder to maintain the features that make our area great; the market, the old housing stock, green spaces. That is why i believe the council should elect an independent design committee.

What is a design committee you ask? A design committee is independent and has no financial interest in projects. A design committee is made up of experts (Architects and designers) with years of experience.  A design committee will offer a different point of view from the council when it comes to the future of our community.
