We, the neighbors and adjoining landowners of the property located adjacent to the Goathouse Refuge owned by MBCR Holdings, LLC, hereby oppose the construction of a private outdoor gun range on said property for the following reasons:

We believe the private outdoor gun range to fall under the definition of “unreasonable noise” as set forth in the Chatham County Noise Ordinance.  Furthermore, we believe said gun range to be a safety issue as it has no features existing or proposed to assure that stray bullets will be contained on the property.  This poses a lead contamination risk to our drinking water as well as direct risk of injury to persons nearby.

Therefore, we hereby request the Chatham County Board of Commissioners halt the construction of said gun range until proper safety measures are taken to assure the safety of the adjoining land owners.
