October Giant Boycott - October 1-7 - "Encourage" Giant to Help Fix the Parking Problem

Friends:
I have updated the Giant Boycott Petition - and we will run a second boycott from October 1st - 7th.
Many residents told me that they participated in our first boycott, and afterward, informed Giant as to why they participated. I am hopeful that we are having an impact; although I have no data to prove anything. At any rate, businesses usually try to keep customers happy. So, Giant may be negotiating with Regency for all we know.
Until Regency's modified plans are available to review, we will have no idea if the parking problem at the new development has been solved. Let's continue to "encourage" Giant to do its part to solve the parking plunge.
I like Giant - and I shop there several times each week. The prior one week Giant boycott was a sacrifice for my family; but if the community boycott effects the change we need, then I am "in," again.
I shopped at Target's grocery store and Whole Foods; but one could also shop at Safeway, or the D owntown Bethesda Giant, or Harris Teeter in Bethesda. I missed the familiarity of Giant; but I was not lacking for grocery options.
You don't need to "re-sign" this boycott... but it would be VERY helpful if you would forward the Boycott Giant Petition to your friends and neighbors and post it on community listservs.
Thank you for your enthusiastic participation, Tricia
