WALK SAFE LANGTREE PETITION - Community DEMAND for safe recreational path on Langtree Rd!
The Issue
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We are truly fortunate to live in the Langtree Road community. One of the greatest joys of our neighborhood is being able to walk, bike, and push strollers outdoors—especially as the weather warms up. We are launching an initiative to make these activities safer for everyone along Langtree Road.
We are collecting signatures from residents throughout the Langtree Peninsula for the following petition, which requests the installation of drainpipes in roadside culverts and the creation of a flat, walkable pathway along Langtree Road. This improvement would provide a safe, more accessible route for adults, children, and pets alike.
With increased activity in the area due to new development and more events near the I-77 access point, the need for a safe, walkable route is more important than ever. We plan to present this petition to the NCDOT.
While similar requests have been made in the past, they lacked the backing of a united community. By coming together and demonstrating broad support, we greatly increase our chances of being heard and achieving results.
Please sign the attached petition. If you are also interested in helping move this effort forward, we’d love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Walk Safe Langtree Committee

WALK SAFE LANGTREE PETITION
We, the undersigned residents, urgently request a safe walking path along Langtree Road—from the I-77 Exit 31 roundabout to the All Seasons Marina. With over 3,000 homes in the area, many neighbors regularly walk this road despite dangerous conditions. We propose filling the roadside ditch and installing drainage pipes to create a wide, level path that ensures safe access for walkers, joggers, and families alike.
