Hi Everyone, This morning, all parents and staff received an email from the Principal declaring that her last day at Lead Mine will be June 10. While we will "declare victory" under Change.org standards, it is bittersweet. We are deeply regretful for the damage this has done to Ms. Hill's reputation and to our school. While this is the outcome we hoped for all along, we wish that the administration and the school board had listened to our concerns and offered us their support from the very beginning. Then the petition never would have been necessary, and so many peoples' lives would not have been impacted. We are especially sad to say goodbye to the seven wonderful teachers who will retire at the end of this year, but heartened by the news that many of the other teachers "on the fence" now plan to stay. We face an uphill battle to fill vacated positions, assimilate a new principal, and bring the Lead Mine family back together. We feel very confident in Dr. Ken Branch's ability to lead that effort. We thank all of you for your support and help to accomplish this. Please continue to advocate for our school and our district. We must hold our Superintendents and the School Board to a higher standard to prevent anything like this from happening again. We will be advocating for an inquiry into the situation, the Area Superintendent's response (or lack thereof), and for teachers whose permanent records have been harmed by the Principal with poor reviews. We will also request that teachers and staff who have left Lead Mine based on this situation be allowed to return if they so desire. Thank you again, Parents for Leopards
