Save Waipara ValleyWaipara, New Zealand
Aug 2, 2025

Time is running out to make a submission about the proposed Waipara industrial solar plant. You can submit online here.

At over 180 hectares, running along the Alpine Pacific Touring Route for 3.6km, the development would change the landscape character from "rural" to "large-scale energy infrastructure".

Alongside the 236,768 solar panels, there would be 7km of internal roads on what is currently productive farmland, as well as buildings of over 3,500 square metres.

The proposal is led by majority Australian-owned company FNSF Ltd, in partnership with Singapore-based offshore investment fund Aquila Capital Ltd.

Anyone can submit - but SUBMISSIONS CLOSE at 5pm on Thursday 14th August. Anyone who does not submit will not be able to comment later on.

This is it, folks. If you have a view about the proposal, now is the time.

                                                   SUBMIT HERE

We'll keep the petition open for another few weeks, so we can keep you updated on the submission process.
