MAJOR NEWS - SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN ON THE SOLAR PLANT PROPSAL

Hurunui District Council has publicly notified the proposal to build a 180ha industrial solar plant in Waipara - meaning everyone now has the chance to input into the decision and share their views.

If you are interested in the proposal, or have any concerns about it, now is the chance to have your say. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Thursday 24 July 2025. If you do not make a submission by this deadline, you will not able to comment later on.

This is great news in many ways, as it means everyone has the chance to comment on the proposal. This has been our chief aim in this petition, and we are very pleased HDC has taken this approach to welcome public submissions.
