Petition updateVUSD Grades 9-12: Letter Grades and C/NC Option

THURSDAY MEETING THIS WEEK! Letter Grade Option on the agenda!!!!

Just a concerned CitizenVista, CA, United States
May 18, 2020

Good evening,

Thank you to the many students, family and community members, VUSD teachers, and many more that took the time to sign the petition, write letters to the Board Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Doyle, make numerous phone calls, join the caravan drive-by, and share the message with so many. VUSD listened to you and placed a Letter Grade Option on the Special Meeting agenda.

BUT OUR WORK IS NOT DONE.  A Letter Grade Option has not been approved yet. Now we need to show HUGE support, and flood the Board, Superintendent Doyle and the School Principals with emails and phone calls to make sure our voice is heard.  Even if you already called and/or emailed, please do it again. Send an email Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If they receive 1,000 emails by Thursday night, they will know the community wants CHOICE.

Education is important. People need to be fully informed before taking a position. Please share narrated slide show with anyone you feel may benefit.

Please note the Meeting time mentioned in slide show is incorrect. The meeting begins at 5:00pm.

IMPORTANT: The procedure for comments has been changed. It will now mimic an in-person meeting as the community member who wants to speak, will be un-muted and speak themselves instead of having their comment read aloud. Remember, 300 words equal about 3 minutes.
Comments must be sent to Chris Lupola christinalupola@vistausd.org  between 3:30pm and 5:00pm on Thursday. Write that you would like to submit comments for item 2 and include that you want a letter grade option approved.

NOTE: No more than 20 minutes will be spent on public comments. That's because it is a special meeting. At a normal meeting you have 20 minutes of public comments first, then you go through the rest of the agenda and at the end you go back to public comments. Not so at special meetings.
