TIME SENSITIVE-San Dieguito School Board Unanimously added Letter Grade Option for HS students

Good evening,

  Tonight, San Dieguito families and parents' hard work and research convinced the School Board to unanimously choose to add a letter grade option to their credit/no credit only policy. Over 90% of high schools in San Diego County now are offering letter grade options. Our board indicated multiple times that they were waiting to see what happened tonight. 

LET'S FLOOD THEIR EMAILS with letters from every family member, neighbor, and anyone else that feels choice is important for our students. They actually count the number of letters they receive and the numbers were mentioned many times tonight in San Dieguito's board meeting. 

Let them know we want Letter Grade choice for our high school students added to the 5/21/20 VUSD Board meeting. Please feel free to use the English or Spanish form letter below but remember to add your name to the bottom and anything personal that may be of importance.

   I would like to respectfully ask the VUSD School Board add a Letter grade choice option to the agenda for the upcoming Special meeting on the 21rst of May. San Dieguito had a meeting tonight, 5/14, and the board unanimously approved adding a letter grade option for their high school students. More than 90% of the high schools in San Diego County are now offering some form of a  Letter Grade option which leaves VUSD as one of the extremely few districts not offering choice or equity for our high school students. 

 You have heard our voices through emails, letters, public demonstrations, multiple forms of media, many phone calls, have read our irrefutable research, and have witnessed schools all around us overturning an unequitable policy that does real harm to students. VUSD High School students deserve choice.

Quisiera pedirle respetuosamente a VUSD que agregue una opción de elección de calificación de letra a la agenda de la próxima reunión especial el 21 de mayo. San Dieguito tuvo una reunión esta noche, 5/14, y la junta aprobó por mayoría de votos agregar una opción de calificación de letra para sus estudiantes de preparatoria. Más del 90% de las escuelas preparatoria en el condado de San Diego ahora ofrecen algún tipo de opción de calificación de letras que deja a VUSD como uno de los muy pocos distritos que no ofrecen opciones o igualdad para nuestros estudiantes de preparatoria (high school). Ustedes han escuchado nuestras voces a través de correos electrónicos, cartas, y múltiples medios de comunicación, muchas llamadas telefónicas, ha leído nuestra investigación irrefutable y ha sido testigo de las escuelas a nuestro alrededor que anulan una políza que no es justo. Hace un daño real a los estudiantes. Los estudiantes de VUSD merecen escoger lo que es mejor para ellos.
