First of all, thank you for being such an amazing community! We have gathered almost 1,000 signatures in 6 days!! Unfortunately, VUSD today chose NOT to put our grading amendment on the table for discussion on May 7th. This came on the very same day that San Dieguito High School District listened to their community's concerns and ordered a special meeting on May 14th to discuss amending their grading policy.
Our next steps include the following:
Tuesday, May 5th 3:15 meetup- 3:30 start in Vista-Students, Families, and members of our community are encouraged to join our peaceful "drive-by" to raise awareness. San Dieguito only had 40....we hope to triple that. (See link above for flyer to share)

If you want your voices heard....you have to email a request for a comment card before the meeting (see instructions). If you want your comments read aloud, your login name for Zoom MUST be the same as your comment card.No video or audio will be on....you can simply login and listen but you CAN'T comment unless you email your comments to christinalupola@vistausd.org prior to President Smithfield calling the meeting to order (basically before the meeting starts at 6:00pm).
Don't lose faith. It's important that we continue to encourage this board and our superintendent to hear our voices and concerns. Open discourse should be allowed on a policy that changed our entire grading system in the midst of a pandemic. There are real and deep concerns for students in all of our high schools. I believe our board will listen to our concerns eventually. We can't give up.
