Hello everyone,
We hope you are well, washing your hands, and staying at home as much as you can (if you have one). When we delivered 5,000 signatures (see photo) to the VPL Board on February 26th (which now seems like a year ago), we never anticipated what would happen next.
As you may know, due to COVID-19, #GIDYVR was cancelled, along with all large gatherings at the VPL and in general. While we are relieved that our energy can be better used elsewhere, we know that the fight for trans and sex worker communities is not over. The VPL is not off the hook - the Vancouver Public Library needs to stop platforming fascists, full stop.

In the meantime, members of the Coalition Against Trans Antagonism have used this time to rest, work on internal structure, and reconcile our next steps.
We organized our first ever virtual town hall on Trans Day of Visibility (March 31st) and are currently working on distributing $4,000 to trans women and trans femmes of colour around the world who are in need.

On Sunday, April 12th between 3:00pm - 5:00pm (PST) we are hosting a drop-in CATA Clinic: Trans/Sex Worker Online Peer Support & Advocacy. We will be creating a safer space via Zoom for trans folks (regardless of geographic location) to access peer support, community resources, advocacy, and general help. Drop-in to say hi and hang out!
