Electing the Islamic Republic of Iran to protect women’s rights makes no sense because it is like the fox guarding the hen house. Iran’s systematic persecution of women over banal things like violation of the dress code and more importantly freedom of speech does not make them a country who values women’s right. Like the recent arrest of Jina Mahsa Amini by the morality police and killing her while she was at their custody.

Furthermore, the Islamic Republic of Iran government agents are mercilessly beating, sexually assaulting and killing its young female citizens as young as 12 years old. 

Iran’s young people are fighting for their basic human rights and want their voices to be heard and need the worlds support to succeed. 

We are requesting the UN’s top women’s rights commission members take action by voting to revoke Iran’s membership as soon as possible. 

Please take action before Iran’s government and its morality police squash the movement of its young female population by torturing and killing them
