The Issue

Having been a loyal, dedicated representative of the Police Federation of England and Wales, along with countless members I have been disheartened and disturbed by the recent comments made by the organisation's CEO.

These derogatory comments undermine the founding principles upon which the organisation stands. They were also contrary to the spirit of policing's Code of Ethics, the code all police officers abide by as Crown Servants.

Added to other allegations of financial opacity, and the CEO’s unwavering refusal to disclose his salary and compensation details to members, this suggests a lack of ethical conduct and decency.

Rank and file colleagues are better than this behaviour, and we must call this out by voicing our displeasure at this non-elected individual.

Through his actions, comments and lack of accountability to members, he has deteriorated our trust, and caused my colleagues and other members to lose faith in PFEW. For example, this is how the CEO behaved in a leaked Teams meeting: https://x.com/pfew_whistle/status/1821197754707927520?s=46&t=csS6KuhVbScsf2936cS26g and the Channel 4 News story: https://www.channel4.com/news/turmoil-and-crisis-inside-the-police-fed-of-england-and-wales

In my own case, I was subjected to a prejudicial, unjust process designed to silence me and move me out of the picture. This is not behaviour fitting of a leader in such a critical organisation in policing.

With 145,000 members, it is essential that the Police Federation, built to represent these officers, operates with transparency and respect. This petition seeks to express our lack of confidence in the current CEO due to his actions which bring the hard-won reputation of policing and the Federation into disrepute.

It’s time to call for accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership at PFEW. Let us start to regain trust and rebuild. Please sign this petition to voice your concerns and demand change.

Please vote for a Vote of No Confidence in PFEW’s non-elected CEO.
