Thank you for signing the petition against the oversized Deauville redevelopment. Your voice matters! Now is the time to take the next steps to defeat it!

As you know, this proposed development plan is a MASSIVE upzoning that will create 60% more square footage than Five Park, our city’s tallest building. Contrary to the developers’ narrative of having unified resident support, most residents are opposed to this project because they know that our city is already overwhelmed by traffic, flooding, and infrastructure strain. It cannot sustain the impact of this development or similar ones. 

Approving this overdevelopment would set a terrible precedent of rewarding bad actors for neglect and demolition of historic buildings and open the floodgates to more spot zoning for developers seeking the same height (400 feet) and density. 

Of course, it is possible for the developers to build profitably under our existing zoning code. But doing so would reduce the hundreds of millions of extra profits they gain when height and FAR are doubled at community expense. Let’s demand the Commission enforce our zoning regulations!
