THURSDAY: If We Don’t Show Up, They Can Say We Didn’t Object

Thursday night is our opportunity to show Fairfax County exactly how this community feels.

In just five days, over 575 people have signed this petition—and the comments tell a remarkably consistent story:

Residents are tired of worsening traffic and roads that already feel overwhelmed.

They are concerned that schools, pedestrian safety, and other infrastructure are not keeping pace with continued development.

They have watched green space disappear parcel by parcel.

And perhaps most troubling, many no longer believe public meetings matter because it feels as though the decisions have already been made.

That frustration is understandable. But it is also exactly why we must show up.

If the room is nearly empty, officials can say the opposition exists only online or represents just a handful of people. A packed room creates a public record that is much harder to dismiss.

This is not simply about 76 more residential units. It is about the cumulative effect of project after project—and whether residents have any meaningful say in what happens to the community where we live.

PACK THE ROOM!

Please attend. Bring a neighbor. Share this update tonight with anyone who lives in Kingstowne, Franconia, Island Creek, Hayfield, or the surrounding area.

Signing the petition sent a message.

Thursday, we need to deliver that message in person:

Kingstowne has absorbed enough. Listen to the residents. Vote NO on SE-2025-FR-00044.
