Vote No Confidence in Trenton's Water Utility Management

Vote No Confidence in Trenton's Water Utility Management
The Issue
For years, I have witnessed the City of Trenton mismanage a crucial resource that affects so many lives in Mercer County, NJ. Our water system, meant to provide clean and safe water to multiple municipalities, has been riddled with problems due to the city's poor oversight. The frustrations and challenges of dealing with frequent water advisories, service interruptions, and lack of transparency from the city show a pattern of neglect.
Many residents across the county, not just in Trenton, have experienced the effects of this mismanagement. There have been numerous reports of outdated infrastructure leading to water quality violations. According to recent data from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, our water system hasn't met the required standards on multiple occasions in recent years. Residents are rightly worried about the safety and reliability of their drinking water.
The city's inability to prioritize and efficiently manage the water utility impedes necessary improvements. External reviews have pointed out clear deficiencies, but real change has yet to occur. Instead of forging a path toward improvement, the city's leadership continues to maintain the status quo, leaving residents without an essential, reliable service.
Concrete steps must be taken to address this issue before it worsens. We must consider alternate management solutions that have successfully worked in other municipalities. This includes potentially privatizing the utility to ensure more accountability, or restructuring the current system to introduce more competent oversight and transparent operations.
Join me in voting no confidence in the City of Trenton's management of the water utility. By signing this petition, you are calling for immediate change and accountability in our water service. Let's ensure our families and future generations can rely on safe and efficient water utility management. Please add your signature to demand action now.
