Petition Concerns:

Our community residents and the remaining volunteer firefighters were put at risk by the North Callaway Fire Protection board's decision to force Chief Lana Karhoff to retire in May 2025. 

The North Callaway Fire Protection board needs to have members with actual fire and first responder experience to help make the decisions that impact this crucial service.

North Callaway community residents can make a big difference by voting for new board members in the upcoming April 7, 2026 election. Two seats are available!! 

Please VOTE Lana Karhoff to the board to make a positive change! 29 years of Fire Protection Service Experience.

Message from Lana Karhoff:

Fellow Community Members,

I'm Lana Karhoff, and I'm excited to announce my candidacy for the North Callaway Fire Protection District Board. In April, you'll have the opportunity to vote for the candidate who will lead our fire department into the future.

As a lifelong resident of Callaway County and a dedicated firefighter, I have a deep understanding of our community's needs and a passion for serving our brave volunteers. My father helped found our fire department in 1980, and I've had the honor of serving as a firefighter, instructor, and leader for 29 years, including as the Fire Chief since 2013.

My goals for our department:

- Establish and recruit enough volunteers to handle our demanding call volume.

- Ensure our volunteers have the best equipment to stay safe and effective.

- Spend our community's resources wisely and with transparency.

I believe the Board of Directors should have people with knowledge of the fire service and how it should run. I'm committed to serving our community and protecting our heroes.
