Vote For Peace
The Issue
The UK is the second largest exporter of arms to the world. Think fighter jets, bombs, missiles, rocket propelled grenades, mines, guns, bullets and all the technology behind it. It is a huge and horrifying industry that fuels mass murder and misery, creating hell on earth for many and vast profit for few.
As shocking as the recent events are in the UK, these happen day in day out in the very places that we supply arms to.
Two-thirds of UK arms exports go to the Middle East.
Our governments champion democracy around the world yet provide political and military support for some the most brutal and oppressive regimes in the world.
We cannot ignore this hypocrisy any longer.
We are not winning the so called 'War on Terror'
I call upon the next UK government to urgently review our economic reliance on arms sales and create a sensible strategy that leads us to abandon profiteering from sales of arms.
