UK campaign group 'Fair Fares Now' have retweeted us and also a big thank you to all of you!

Hello everyone, just emailing to say a big thank you to all of you who have signed my petition. I currently have 72 signatures and considering I only made this petition Friday evening, as well as having absolutely no previous experience in campaigning, I am so pleased! This petition has already been re-tweeted by the UK advocacy group ‘Campaign for Better Transport’ on their twitter page, which is dedicated to their campaign for “Fair Fares Now”. This page has over 2,800 followers and is a great start. It also shows we are not alone in thinking how unfair Virgin are being. Virgin are quietly trying to bring this policy in; apart from one tiny message on their website (which isn’t even on their homepage), they have not released a statement about the policy change or even emailed loyal Virgin customers to inform them - so not many people know about this. Therefore, I truly believe that if we get more signatures, it will get the momentum going and highlight this issue in the public domain. This new policy is so farcical that I really think we will get lots of support and this will make Virgin look bad. I don’t intend to stop at this petition; I am going to do everything I can to force this issue out in the open. I’m currently drafting up a letter to send to Virgin themselves, any MPs who's constituencies will be affected by the new prices, as well as many more lobby groups etc. I will even contact newspapers in the hope some may pick the story up! It may sound like a long shot to be taking on a multi billion pound company like Virgin, however, I think it is disgusting that Virgin trains can treble train fares so much so that loads of people can’t even afford to travel to work – and we are expected to sit back and do nothing about it.
