Police need to be more 'pro-active' while violent crime rolls on....

We are a team of former Victoria Police members with extensive 'street' experience. Unfortunately you just can't believe the rhetoric from Victoria Police Command about more police on the street and 'Operations' reducing crime, it's all spin. The numbers simply don't exist.

We know effective policing isn't all about arrests although there should be a lot more of them. It's about presence, real presence. Don't just drive the divvy van past a bunch of yobbo's outside the front of the mall, stop, get out and talk to them, if they're misbehaving, take their names and move them on, if they don't like it, apply all appropriate legal actions.

When someone calls the police station don't say "oh there's nothing we can do", who want's to hear that when they contact police. How about, "we'll take your information and pass it to our patrolling police to keep a look out".

You pay your taxes and deserve better from your police force.  The rank and file will do their job, they just need the direction and resources to do it.
