My father Hisan lee was convicted for crimes he did not commit. There was no physical or scientific evidence tying Hisan in to any of the crimes alleged. The entire trial was premised on WORD OF MOUTH. Words from the mouths of people who were facing life in prison themselves. In other words, the entire case was premised on the statments/testimony of cooperating witnesses. Witnesses who had multiple motives to fabricate. Ultimately they got together and found persons to blame for unsolved crimes! crimes that they may have themselves committed.
You might ask yourself: How does our criminal justice system allow for admitted criminals with much to gain and nothing to lose testify with out any physical evidence to support their narrative? How does that relationship occur between the cooperating witness and the United States attorney's office?
The answer-
The government walks the cooperating witnesses into a contract in which they promise to provide substantial information that leads to the arrest and conviction of others. In return the government writes a letter, (its technical name is a 5k.1 letter), to their sentencing judge requesting (this request is almost always granted), a sentencing reduction.
My dad and our Family are fighting hard for justice. We are presently in the court. The case number is Hisan lee v. United States 17-cv-8567 (LAP). We are seeking help in the restoration of My Fathers freedom. We seek to bring attention to this unethical practice in the United States Attorney's office in using witnesses to build cases who demonstrate an intrinsic lack of trustworthiness.
We call upon all of our family and friends and ask the community of those who have been affected by these practices to help. We call upon the attorneys, clerks, Marshalls and Judges, who are tired of turning a blind eye, to find the courage to say Enough is Enough. We ask those in the legal community who are interested in fighting for the constitutional rights of defendants to Help. We are not in a position to fight the injustices incurred by the government alone. They have the money and the resources.
