Hey Everyone,

Thank you for continuing to stand up for player safety! We’ve seen incredible support from parents, coaches, and athletes who all agree—Little League’s ban on thumb guards is unnecessary, illogical, and dangerous. Yet, despite the growing outcry, they continue to ignore the concerns of the very families and players they claim to support.

Little League has yet to provide a legitimate reason for this ban. They have not answered the simple question: How does a thumb protector alter a bat or create an unfair advantage? The reality is, it doesn’t. But by taking away this important piece of protective gear, they are creating a disadvantage—one that puts young players at greater risk of painful hand injuries.

And let’s talk about equity. Not every family can afford to go out and buy expensive two-piece bats, which are designed to reduce bat sting. But a simple, affordable thumb guard—something that has been used safely at all levels of play for years—is now off-limits for those in Little League? Where is the fairness in that? Every player, regardless of the bat they use, should have the right to protect themselves at the plate.

We can’t let up now! Will Little League listen, or will they keep ignoring the call for player safety? It’s time to put the question to them: Are they truly addressing your concerns, or just brushing you off when you demand answers? Why are they removing safety measures? Why push athletes to buy more expensive bats instead of allowing a simple thumb guard to protect their hands? What’s really going on?

🔥 Here’s how you can help:

✅ Leave a comment – Share your personal experiences. The more voices, the stronger our message!

📢 Spread the word – Share this petition with parents, coaches, and teammates. Let the press know and get the debate talked about: why is Little League removing a piece of important safety gear for players? Where is the equity in that?

‼️Share this link on all your social media channels!

📧Contact Little League now – email, call, and demand real answers. They need to hear from us! They seem to be ignoring the voices of parents and players. Ask them why they are ignoring parents who want safety for their kid at the plate. Find out if their responses hold any weight. If they claim thumb guards alter the bat, that’s simply not true. If they say they provide an advantage, flip it back on them—by banning thumb guards, they’re actually putting players at a disadvantage by risking injury. Are they forcing players to buy expensive bats instead? Ask the tough questions and keep pressing for answers. This ruling is unfair to all players who deserve the option of safety at the plate!

We have hit our goal of 200 signatures—let’s push past that and show Little League that we won’t back down when it comes to keeping kids safe. Every player deserves the right to step up to the plate with confidence and protection.

Thank you for standing up for youth safety! Now, let’s see if Little League will live up to their mission of promoting safety and equity in the game, or if they’ll continue banning essential safety gear.

Banning crucial equipment like thumb guards is antithetical to Little League's stated commitment to player safety and fairness. Hold them accountable to your athletes, to your kids!

Will Little League continue to ignore the call from parents to overturn this ban? The united voices advocating for player safety cannot and will not be silenced!

We stand with you. Let’s keep pushing to ensure every youth athlete in Little League gets the protection they deserve.

Best,
Craig First
