🎉 APPLICATION WITHDRAWN 🎉

We have confirmation from Spelthorne Borough Council that Golden Slots has withdrawn its Adult Gaming Centre licence application for 39 Church Road, Ashford.

This follows 120 valid objections from residents in this latest round, on top of the 133 that secured the original refusal back in October 2025. That's hundreds of you who took the time to write in, twice, and make your voice heard.

Interestingly, the Council has confirmed that while the applicant was aware of the number of objections received, they hadn't actually seen the content, that was scheduled for review this week. They have chosen to withdraw before that review. We can't say for certain what was behind their decision, but it's a strong indicator that they didn't want to face this community's objections head on.

A huge thank you to everyone who objected, signed this petition, and shared it with neighbours and friends. This result belongs to this community.

We understand a new application remains possible in future, and if one is submitted, you'll be the first to know, and we'll be ready to mobilise again.
