Community Forum - 12 November 2014

Dear Supporters Reopen our Schools is proud to bring you a Community Forum into public education, titled what is the future for public education in Banyule? In the lead up to the November 2014 State Election, political candidates for the State seat of Ivanhoe will be invited to address the community on their plans for a solution to public education provisioning in Banyule and more broadly explain their party position for public education. Details of the forum are set out below: Date: Wednesday, 12 November 2014 Time: 7.30pm - 9.30pm Venue: Anderson Room, Bellfield Community Centre, Cnr. Oriel Road & Banksia Street Bellfield Vic 3081 Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions of political candidates in attendance. Chairperson This forum will be chaired by David Zyngier. David is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Monash University and a former school principal and state school teacher. His research focuses on Culturally, Linguistically and Economically Diverse (CLED) learning communities; social justice; democratic education; teacher knowledge and beliefs.
