Keep up the fight to Reopen our Schools!

Dear All We are working away steadily to raise the cause of reopening the three closed schools in Bellfield and Heidelberg West/Heights. Although some of the old sites have been sold for housing, the issue of proper education provisioning in Banyule will not go away. Our online petition has around 300 signatures, which is a fantastic result! It is heartening to see so many people who care about public education in our community. With big forecast increases in population density in Bellfield, Ivanhoe, Heidelberg and Heidelberg West, more children will require access to public education. There is a need for holistic planning and provisioning around public education in Banyule. Consequently, our group has broadened its campaign objectives and is now a community voice for public education provisioning issues in Banyule.
