VFS Global (Nigeria) Verification Delays and Poor Treatment of Clients Unacceptable
The Issue
VFS Global is one of the largest global visa outsourcing and technology services specialists for governments and diplomatic missions. The company manages the administrative and non-judgmental tasks related to visa, passport and consular services for its client governments. This enables them to focus entirely on the critical task of assessment.
VFS Global charges enormous amounts for document verification and promises to complete this process in 60 days. Unfortunately, document verification for Finland takes longer than the promised timeline. There are cases where document verification takes 4-6 months instead of the 60 days quoted by VFS Global. This is unacceptable and breaches the agreement between VFS global and its clients.
Failure to complete the verification within the quoted timeline without a detailed explanation of why the verification cannot be completed and a promise of a new fixed deadline shows complete disrespect and disregard for their clients. Unfortunately, such disregard is often only reserved for blacks, as this cannot be done to white Finns in Finland.
Failure to complete the verification within the promised period has life-changing effects on people dependent on this verification. As such, we ask that VFS Global respect the 60 days contract with its clients or extend its turnaround time from 60 to 90 days. If such an extension has to be made, all documents with a 60 days turnaround time must be treated immediately.
Several people from West Africa who have used VFS Global Services in recent years have numerous adverse complaints against them. These range from disrespect of clients, failure to provide clients with appointment dates, loss of clients' documents etc. These adversely affect the lives and livelihoods of their clients and their families. For example, some people have reported that delays caused by VFS global have made them undocumented migrants in Finland.
We demand Change, and we demand it Now.
