As of August 17th, the Vermont Teachers union is also requesting universal masking in schools for the safety of all students, teachers, and staff. The union, along with many doctors, say masks will be key to a safer school year. However, Gov Scott and Dan French still have not updated their masking guidance for schools.

Dr. Leah Costello with Timberlane Pediatrics says: 

“Universal masking is what the medical experts are telling us is the most important thing - and that will really significantly reduce the risk that children have to catching COVID at school."
