Varthur bridge, Bengaluru is one of the key connecting bridges for commuters, particularly techies traveling from the Whitefield tech corridor towards Varthur, Sarjapur and other areas.

There are high-rise apartments coming up in Varthur (including PLH, SDA, Brigade Utopia, PLH2, and some more newly approved townships). With more citizens occupying the apartment complexes in the locality and a large part of the IT crowd is moving into this area, without the sustainable mobility planning, traffic density will drastically increase in the upcoming days.

Around 1750 vehicles are getting registered in Bengaluru every day, improving road infrastructure and improving public transport like metro connectivity is the need of the hour. With so many residential and commercial apartments coming up in the future in Varthur area, it is required to get possibility to support metro connectivity in future.

Existing Proposed plan - As per current proposed plan the two-lane Varthur main road is being widened to a 25-meter six-lane road. The elevated corridor will become a four-lane road. 

New Proposed plan - Bengaluru is witnessing its first double decker flyovers (Raggigudda - SilkBoard); which supports metro (upper deck) and road connectivity (lower deck) for vehicle movements. Nagpur is also having longest double decker world class flyover which supports both road and metro. We are proposing following changes in the existing proposed plan for better sustainable infrastructure in this area -

1. Road widening
2. Double Decker Flyover
   1. Lower deck for vehicle movement
   2. Provision to support upper deck for future Metro
3. Footpath and space for city bus stop

Many people in this area were opposing simple flyover construction as it limits the option to get metro in the future. But with the new proposed plan, there is a provision to support for metro in the future which is need of the future mobility. Let's join hands in supporting this campaign and get double decker flyover for the good of the people in this area.

Note - We are not asking to get immediate approval for metro in this area but for getting a better infrastructure with double decker flyover which can support for metro whenever it is planned to be developed in this area in the future.
