Stop Raiding the Cannabis Substitution Project
The Issue
On or about November 16th, 2020, the Vancouver Police Department raided The Cannabis Substitution Project, who have been selflessly handing out care packages of free Cannabis edibles etc to opiate addicts living downtown on the East side. The project is run by donations and volunteers, and it has proven harm reduction approaches work.
On the 16th, police raided their office on wheels, confiscated all of their Cannabis care packages, which was destined for the most vulnerable. Say Enough! Tell the police, local government, and province that opiate addicts matter, and that this Project ought to be granted a special license to continue their good work. Stop the raids on addicts trying to seek help. The government has failed to provide opiate addicts with reasonble drug treatment options.
The Vancouver Police Department are acting contrary to their oath, “to serve & protect”, by arbitrarily using bad policies to further harm the most vulnerable - drug addicted; which goes against guaranteed common law rights. Stop!
