Park Board Commissioners passed a motion yesterday evening directing staff to design and implement a second Alcohol in Parks Pilot for 2022 taking into consideration lessons learned from the 2021 pilot. Staff have been asked to report back to the Board with recommendations for next steps.

This Petition was mentioned in the VIA article below.  “There was also a 300-signature petition against drinking near ecologically sensitive areas at Vanier, Kits Beach, Locarno, and Volunteer parks.”

Whether they’ll reconsider Vanier Park in particular remains to be seen.
