Over the past 24 years, Vancouver's 4/20 festival has grown into one of the city's most popular and well-attended annual events, with about 100,000 people attending.

The Vancouver Park Board has refused to grant us a permit, despite their own staff encouraging them to do so. Refusing us a permit leaves the city and park board liable for any problems, as we cannot get event insurance without a permit.

4/20 is a peaceful protest which also brings great economic benefits to the West End. People come from across the Lower Mainland and even from other countries to participate in this world-famous event.

The Park Board licenses dozens of alcohol events in city parks, and they can grant a license for 4/20 if they choose to. It's time for the Park Board to stop discriminating against cannabis users and grant 4/20 a permit!
