I wrote to Councillor Pete Fry, the author of the motion to slow the Drive from Venables to Broadway, and asked why he did not include the schools. He responded "As the author of the Drive motion I wasn’t aware of your school concerns – nor did it come up in debate or with any of the speakers to the motion.". This level of ignorance is shocking. For years Stratford Hall has been asking the City for reduced speeds, and has been “denied and denied and denied" (see link). Please help me enlighten Councillor Fry by emailing him at Pete.Fry@vancouver.ca and letting him know that you think we need a school zone at 3000 Commercial Drive.
